Randomness

Yes, well, it has been a long time, but here I am. And here you are. You can bet part of my motivation is related to something else I “should” be doing.  I am supposed to be editing something for a friend, and I got part way through and suddenly became possessed of a desire to Facebook, join Weight Watchers, write in my journal and blog. It must feel kind of like school to me without me realizing it!

I will start with Bodhi because, well, it is kind of his blog. He is doing well, acclimating to the winter routine (which includes walks around the yard rather than the block when it’s too cold). We’ve done this every winter so I have mostly allowed myself not to feel guilty when I get up on the treadmill. He has seemed pretty sparky lately, though, and as soon as I get some Yaktrax I will start getting him out a little more again. We were up to nearly a mile a month ago, but that walk seemed to be too much for him. He was breathing hard and was lethargic for hours afterwards.

I do find it slightly amusing that I am buying Yaktrax now, now that this is my last winter in MN. 🙂

It has been a spendy week for me – I ordered a new mouse too. The old one has served me well, but it was bought in 2005 I think and it is just not as good as it once was. I opted for a USB mouse. I almost never really need the wireless feature and I hope to get a little finer control.

Running is going well on the treadmill these days. I thought I would never get used to it! I did buy a little footpod so it would connect with my Garmin watch, I like that a lot. Although the other day it kind of went crazy and said I was going 1300 mile an hour at some point…in general it works well and I like to keep track of my workouts all in one place.

I made it to the chiropractor finally and it was pretty good that first day – but them my co-pay was $45! That is more than I pay for urgent care…I’m just saying. She wants me to come in twice a week but, uh, yeah, I’m not too interested in dropping $90 a week there. I was going to add “even if she could cure my migraines.” But that isn’t really true. If I knew she could stop them for good, I’d probably pony up the dough. Unfortunately, A) I have no idea if she will even be able to help and B) what if it helps a lot but I have to keep going – soon I won’t have insurance. And I’m moving. I did decide to try to get a bunch of sessions in in the next few weeks (one time one week, two times the next) to see if it will help. It’s worth a try, anyway.

That is all the randomness for now. I am going to get up on the treadmill and then finish this editing I’m doing before I write about what I really want to write about…Weight Watchers. 🙂
