July 26

I decided to host a bonfire. Yes, I know it’s August. Someone else suggested that I hold a fundraiser, but my house is tiny, no chance of getting very many people in here, but my yard, now that is big! I have a great fire pit, too.

Bodhi is feeling friskier the last two days and was quite sad when he saw me head out for my first run since the incident.

Just as I was getting home I saw some city workers piling up a bunch of big branches on the neighbor’s lawn. I sidled over and asked if I could have some of the wood (for the bonfire). The guy said he didn’t care a bit, just not to leave the pile in a mess. I then spent the next hour dragging giant branches across the street into my yard.

I called my ex to let him know that the pile of wood had grown – it only seemed fair now that I had what looked like an entire downed tree in the yard.
